NOTE: Cumming Nature Center is CLOSED November 16 through December 26.

Meet members of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-2 and learn how you and your family can avoid "disaster" on your recreational boat or jet ski, and how to be prepared if trouble comes. See and learn about life jackets and other emergency equipment.
Wednesday, November 11: Robotics Camp for ages 9–11

Holiday Bazaar Arts & Crafts Sale
Presented by the RMSC Women's Council
More than 175 exhibitors of original art and unique crafts fill the RMSC galleries and Eisenhart Auditorium. Discover one-of-a-kind gifts, visit the used book sale, and enjoy food and beverages on site.
Admission: $4; Two-day pass $7; children 12 and under free.
NOTE: Ongoing museum exhibits will be unavailable during the Holiday Bazaar, as galleries will be filled with arts and crafts exhibitors. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition will remain open. Admission to the Holiday Bazaar plus Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is $11 ($9 RMSC members).

1936 Cunningham-Ford Town Car
One of the most spectacular objects from the RMSC's collections was produced by the company founded by Rochester entrepreneur James Cunningham, recently inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame. See it on the museum's third floor near the Rochester Business Hall of Fame exhibit.

AdventureZone
Investigate the underwater world of Lake Ontario as you dive to the lake floor in the Deep Submergence Vehicle simulator. Test your strength on the Genesee Gorge climbing wall. Experiment with wind currents, stream erosion, and more.
At the Western Door
The hundreds of objects displayed show the Seneca's and Haudenosaunee's creative response to new technologies and materials introduced following European Contact. Clan and family continue to bind communities together and define who the Seneca and Haudenosaunee are.

Nightfall Music
Length: 60 min. Children under 5 not admitted.
The planetarium presents an hour of tranquility. Thousands of stars drift above as you enjoy a seamless mix of calming music by Enya, Loreena McKennitt, and other artists with an insight into serenity. Not a laser show, not an astronomy program, this unique experience offers an oasis of minimalist simplicity in a chaotic world. Assorted pastries, cheeses, fruit, wine, specialty beers and coffees available for purchase before or after the show.
Show Time: Saturday, November 14 at 8pm. Doors open at 7pm.

Laser Shows
Saturday Night Laser Show
Intensely colored beams from argon and krypton lasers fill the planetarium dome with dazzling color patterns that spontaneously dance to classic rock music. Shows change monthly.
November Laser Show: '60s Laser
Length: 50 min. Children under five are not admitted to this show.
Experience the music of such rock icons as The Doors, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and more. Classic hits include "Satisfaction," " Aquarius," "Magic Bus," "Instant Karma," and many others.

Admission: adults $10; seniors, college students, students ages 5–18, and RMSC members $9. (Children under age 5 are not admitted to Saturday Night Laser.)
Holiday Songs and Skies with Mr. Jack Frost—Opens Saturday, November 21
Length: 50 min. For all ages.
A holiday must-see! Mr. Frost is back—trading the world's corniest space jokes with his sidekick Ed, pointing out winter constellations, and introducing holiday songs choreographed to colorful laser light.

Free Saturday Evening Telescope Viewing
Climb 60 steps at the back of the planetarium to view the heavens through a 12.5-inch diameter reflecting telescope operated by knowledgeable amateur astronomers from the Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Science. Before Coming: Please phone the box office after 7:30pm to confirm the telescope is open: (585)697-1945.

Challenger Learning Center
Embark on a virtual voyage to Mars—a high-tech, hands-on space flight simulation. Coordinated by "Mission Commanders" from Monroe #1 BOCES, this unique experience is educational and fun. Note: Children must be at least 7 years old. Children ages 7 to 10 must be teamed one-to-one with an adult. Reservations required: call (585)697-1942.

Special FREE Event: Pre-Holiday Telescope Demonstration
Thinking about a telescope as a holiday gift? Members of Rochester's friendly local astronomy club will set up their own telescopes in the planetarium lobby so you can look and ask questions about what various types of telescopes do and how much they cost.

Take the Chill out of Winter
Help make winter a little warmer for those in need! Bring a donation of new or gently used jackets, hats, boots, mittens or gloves to the nature center for distribution to local charities. Add your name to the Visitor Center's "Thanksgiving Wall," and take a last walk on the trails before the center closes for six weeks of seasonal maintenance.
Funding for maintenance of Cumming Nature Center s trails is provided by NYS Senator Dale M. Volker.
