The RMSC Preschool offers hands-on experiences and age-appropriate activities for children ages three, four, and five. For information about registering for the 2009–2010 school year, call (585)697-1949. Early Childhood ProgramWe are proud to be Rochester's premier museum-based preschool! Over 2600 Rochester-area children have attended the Preschool over the last 30+ years, enjoying a child-centered, developmentally appropriate program facilitated by a warm and caring staff. We work closely with parents to serve the best interest of every child and family.
CurriculumOur curriculum provides unique educational experiences which enhance a traditional preschool program. We take advantage of the exhibits, collections and resources of the entire RMSC. On-site visits to the Rochester Museum, the Strasenburgh Planetarium and the Cumming Nature Center in the Bristol Hills are an integral part of the program.
The curriculum stimulates exploration and encourages problem-solving skills, creativity, and social and emotional growth. Our preschoolers develop a broad knowledge base about the world around them. Their teachers accept them as individuals and encourage each child to progress at his or her own pace laying the foundations for language and beginning academic skills.
