Star Party

Star Party

Saturday, March 10| 5–10pm

Location: Cumming Nature Center

Skip town and light pollution to join us for an evening of stargazing at the Cumming Nature Center! This family-friendly, after-hours event will focus on the basics of astronomy and orient novice star gazers to telescopes, star charts, galaxies and more! Pack a picnic dinner, bring a blanket, and get cozy as we take in the wonders of the night sky.

In case of inclement weather, pack a board game or some cards! With multiple exhibits, hands-crafts, and a 110-person theater, the Cumming Nature Center is an excellent space to relax with family and friends.

Highlights Include:

  • Stargazing
  • Telescope viewing
  • Guided Cosmic Supposer Sessions (What exactly is a black hole? Where do stars come from? What's the difference between a meteor and a meteorite? All your questions answered, debated and discussed in the open conversation about our world!)
  • Owl Prowl at 8pm (Venture out for an evening hike with CNC Guide Abby Odinak)
  • Bonfire
  • Picnics welcome! Bring your own food and drink, but keep in mind we are a carry-in, carry-out facility.
  • Warm beverages and snacks available for purchase.
