Soap Making

Soap Making

Saturday, July 21 | 10am–12pm & 1–3pm

Make your own handmade soap with Lisa Fredrickson of Flint Creek Soap! In first half of this class, we will discuss the basic science and history behind soap making. In the second half, we will get busy with our hands and make a batch of cold process soap together.

After the soap is made it takes a few days to cure. Individual batches of soap will be cured and cut to dry in Lisa’s shop for participants. When the soaps are ready for use they will be shipped to participants directly. Shipping is included in the price of the class, and all ingredients and equipment will be provided. If you prefer to cut your own loaf, this can be arranged, and at the time of batching it will be shipped as a whole loaf.

Cost: $45/person (Includes materials and shipping)

Register: 10am

Register: 1pm

About the Instructor

At the suggestion of a friend, Lisa Fredrickson began making soap in 2001 while living on a small farm in the majestic Rocky Mountains amid the glow of a new millennium. It took a couple of years to work out the kinks of owning and operating a business, but over the course of 16 years and a few name changes Flint Creek Soap came into being on the banks of its namesake creek in Italy, New York. Flint Creek now operates out of Naples, NY and supplies soap to retailers nationwide (including many great local shops!). Flint Creek soaps contain only natural ingredients like olive and coconut oil.
