Grand Opening of Take It Down! Organizing Against Racism Carousel Panel Exhibit March 25

ROCHESTER, NY—The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) in partnership with the City of Rochester and Take It Down Planning Committee invites the public to celebrate the grand opening of the Dentzel Menagerie Carousel panel exhibit, Take It Down! Organizing Against Racism, from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, March 25.

The community-wide event for all ages will include an opportunity to view the exhibit, hear from several key participants in the initiative and ask questions. The event takes place at the historic Central Church of Christ, 101 S. Plymouth Avenue. This event is the beginning of an ongoing educational process in the Rochester community to create meaningful and sustained dialogue on individual, institutional and structural racism.

This opening event is the first of a series of regularly scheduled programs in partnership with other organizations committed to dismantling racism, such as Facing Race, Embracing Equity: Rochester’s Racial Equity Initiative. These upcoming programs will provide the community an opportunity to give feedback on the exhibit and direct the course of future programming. For program dates, times and other details including sign-up for organizations interested in partnering in the educational process, visit www.rmsc.org/carousel.

Viewing the exhibit is free and open to the public at Central Church of Christ on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm and Sundays from 12pm to 2pm from now through May 12. Additional hours will be announced for April break.
