Bio-Forum: Editing the Human Genome

Bio-Forum: Editing the Human Genome

Friday, July 20 | 6–8pm

As gene editing techniques become more refined, the possibility of editing the human genome is moving from science fiction to reality. What should we do with this power? Who should decide? Be part of a community discussion with researchers, physicians, and neighbors as we consider the possibilities: scientific, social and ethical.

Bio-Forum includes:

  • Short moderated discussion between two researchers about the basics of gene editing (CRISPR)
  • Small group discussion around three different scenarios
  • Reconnect with the larger group to share thoughts from your small group's discussions and hear from others
