Challenger Center

Challenger Center

The Challenger Learning Center of Greater Rochester is a high-tech, hands-on facility for space flight simulations located at the Strasenburgh Planetarium and coordinated by "Mission Commanders" from Monroe #1 BOCES.

When participants fly their “Mission to Mars,” they put their math, science, and technology process skills into action by completing curriculum-based activities aligned with New York State learning standards. And they have fun, too!

The Challenger Center operates primarily for 5th-grade school classes, but we also offer summer camps and occasional public missions. For public missions, children must be at least 7 years old. Children ages 7 to 10 must be teamed one-to-one with an adult. Reservations are required. For information on future public missions, call 585.697.1942.
