Heritage Maker Workshop Series
Heritage Making is about nurturing traditional crafts and building beautiful things in a community context. Explore new skills from stone carving to blacksmithing in this series of workshops at the Cumming Nature Center.
At the core, this program aims to create a supportive space for talented teachers and craftspeople to share traditional knowledge through fellowship and intensive instruction. Classes are relaxed, informative, and recognize the value in handmade arts and crafts.
Registrations are non-refundable as of 48 hours prior to the program you registered for.
Stone Carving
Saturday, July 9 | 9:30am
The tradition of stone carving dates back thousands of years, and the fundamental techniques of this ancient art are still used today. Students in the Introduction to Stone Carving class will explore the basics of stone carving in small-group, hands-on training sessions. Students will learn how to use a subtractive method of carving to create a small alabaster sculpture to take home. All tools and materials are included with registration.
Cost: $200 (includes materials fee)
