Poetry in the Pines

Poetry in the Pines

Saturday, August 10 | 5–7pm

Venture out to the pines of Cumming Nature Center for an outdoor poetry reading and wine tasting led by Living Roots urban winery.

If you love poetry, reading, wine, you'll enjoy Poetry in the Pines. It's an excellent event for those without enough time to read, or those looking for a good literary discussion. Guests are invited to bring a poem, a song, an essay excerpt, etc. (no longer than one-page and not written by yourself) to read aloud with the group followed by discussion. Consider themes related to nature, agriculture, conservation, or eco-consciousness. Not interested in reading aloud or don't have a poem to bring? Just come to listen or choose a reading on-site.

Tasting+flights.jpegThe event willbegin with a wine tasting by Living Roots urban winery and a brief viticulture talk to orient readers to the local landscape by Living Roots co-owner Sebastian Hardy.

Participants are encouraged to bring a snack to pair and share!

Tickets are $12 at the door, cash only.

The event is supported by a partnership with Writers & Books in Rochester
