Planet Spectacular

1-2 | Depart Earth, visit Pluto and all the planets in our solar system!

  • Strasenburgh Planetarium
  • Planetarium Digistar Presentation
  • 1st Grade, 2nd Grade
  • Earth Science, Space Science, Technology & Applications of Science

This is the best choice for younger elementary students who want a program on planets. Using the Planetarium’s Digistar visualization system, we depart from Earth, visit Pluto and all the other planets in our solar system. We visit some of the most important moons in our solar system, and we travel to one of the thousands of exoplanets that have been discovered in recent years. Content can be adapted to the needs of your class; teachers should email Planetarium Director Steve Fentress at sfentress@rmsc.org

Seating capacity may be limited in compliance with public health guidelines in effect on the day of your visit. Maximum capacity includes all students, teachers, aides, chaperones, parents, and siblings.

NYS Standards:
  • ESS1.A The Universe and Its Stars

  • ESS1.B Earth and the Solar System
