The RMSC celebrates the life and Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Join us as we pay tribute to his life, work, and activism. We honor his legacy, highlight local activists, and recognize his contemporaries.
Programs & Activities:
- Button-making (11am–3pm): Make vintage-inspired buttons with quotes from MLK, his contemporaries, and more.
- In His Words (11am–3pm): Listen and watch important and notable speeches by MLK in the Bausch Auditorium, including “Other America,” I Have a Dream,” and more.
- Storytime (12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm): Cozy up for story hour and listen to stories about people who changed the world!
- The Green Book (11am–3pm): Explore the history, locations and significance of The Green Book Motorist Guide, by Victor Hugo Green. Use the Green Book and maps to explore different routes and locations from this important and essential book.
- Coloring Station (11am–3pm): Take a break to color MLK themed coloring pages.
