Painting in the Pines – July 19: sold out
Get outside and paint beneath the majestic red pines of the Cumming Nature Center this summer! This plein air painting class will cover the basic tools and techniques needed to paint outdoors, including how to set up a palette and choose a subject. Beginner painters will have the option to use a pre-sketched canvas as the foundation for their painting. After a short demonstration, participants will enjoy one-on-one instruction and interaction with instructor Victoria Brzustowicz as they work at their own pace. This class is suitable for beginner and more experienced artists. All tools and materials will be provided.
Painting by the Pond – September 27: SOLD OUT
Join us for a relaxing and creative morning outdoors as we paint a quiet pond set beneath the changing leaves of Cumming Nature Center. This plein air painting class will cover the basic tools and techniques needed to paint outdoors, including how to set up a palette and choose a subject. aBOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Victoria Brzustowicz is an award-winning painter and experienced instructor from Rochester, NY. Brzustowicz co-founded and chairs the Greater Rochester Plein Air Painters (GRPAP). This group gathers throughout the year to paint outdoors, fostering camaraderie and shared artistic exploration.
In addition to her role with GRPAP, Brzustowicz is affiliated with the Flower City Arts Center, where she teaches drawing and painting (oil, pastel, and gouache). She also teaches at the Art Stop in Penfield, NY, (drawing, oil, and gouache). She has conducted numerous plein air workshops, including for Wood Library in Canandaigua, Cumming Nature Center (Rochester Museum & Science Center), and Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY.
Her passion for plein air painting, coupled with her role as an educator and community leader, underscores her commitment to fostering creativity and artistic growth within the artistic landscape of New York’s Finger Lakes region.
