Winter Break: Snowed In!
Come enjoy the break by discovering the science of the season with hands-on winter themed science programs, shows, and activities.


Celebrate winter break at the RMSC! Join us for a week long lineup of hands-on STEM fun and experiences to bring your students winter fun while staying warm.
Winter Themed Programs & Activities:
- Monday, December 26 Kick Off: Winter Animal Scavenger Hunt: Find and track some winter animals throughout the museum. Visit all the animals to collect a prize!
- Winter Mammal Exploration: Learn about winter animals! Explore hands on animal artifacts. Discover what we can learn from following animal tracks, trace, and take home footprints from some of your favorite mammals who thrive in the winter. Then build your own winter habitat.
- Inventor Center Challenge–Robot Snow Plows: Build, test, and tinker with robotic snow plows to try your hand at clearing all the snow covered streets in town.
- RMSC Weather Station: Learn about and recreate various winter weather systems: witness a snowstorm in a jar, create a cloud in a bottle, and more!
- Noon Years Celebration (Dec. 31 & Jan. 1): Celebrate New Years around the world with your littlest ones! Collect an RMSC passport and travel the globe to learn about annual traditions from around the world! Make frozen bubbles, learn about the upcoming Solar Eclipse, and more!
- Microscope Station: Take a close look at winter objects using microscopes!
