the summer solstice:

- The Summer Solstice is the longest day & shortest night of the year, celebrated globally with rituals and festivals.
- The Summer Solstice occurs twice each year–once in the Northern Hemisphere, and once in the Southern Hemisphere.
- What’s going on during the solstice? One of the Earth’s poles has reached its maximum tilt toward the sun. This results in the longest day of sunlight experienced during a calendar year!
