Weekend Wild Walks (and talks!)
Explore ecology topics through walks, talks, and family-friendly activities alongside one of our expert educators this spring!



Explore the spring season with one of our expert naturalists! This spring you can get outside to learn about the amazing skunk cabbage, go on a hunt for the tiniest wildflowers, listen to the bud-bursting folklore of spring, and search for life in a wet and wild vernal pool during one of our themed Weekend Wild Walk programs.
Programs take place on Saturdays at 10:30am and last 1 – 1.5 hours unless otherwise marked.
Wild Walk fee includes admission. Members must sign in to receive admission discount if purchasing tickets online.
APRIL PROGRAMS
Stalking the Wild Skunk Cabbage
April 1 | 10:30am | $7 (price includes $3 general admission)
This early spring hike is no April Fool’s joke! Skunk cabbage is one of the earliest spring flowers and one of the oldest around–with some fascinating adaptations. Be prepared to be amazed on this signs-of-spring walk.

On the Trail of the Trailing Arbutus
April 8 | 10:30am | $7 (price includes $3 general admission)
Come and search our trails for the tiny and elusive wildflower called the Trailing Arbutus. Along the way we’ll search for other tiny, low-growing “belly plants” hidden amongst the leaves and growing on the ground.
You won’t want to miss this terrific adventure along the forest floor!
