Jump into your space suit and report for training, because the newest addition to the RMSC has landed and it’s out of this world! The Astronaut exhibit is coming to the RMSC Museum & Science Center from Friday, October 17, 2025–May 3, 2026, bringing a whole space lab full of science fun.
This new interactive and hands-on exhibit explores the physical and mental challenges involved in space exploration, and gives visitors a taste of what life is like outside of Earth and our atmosphere.
Lyndsay Compitello, VP of Marketing & Guest Experience shared: “Astronaut is a really unique exhibition because it reveals the separate stages of becoming a space explorer. From training, to blasting off and living aboard a space station, Astronaut investigates the day-to-day activities alongside the unique science conducted in space. Through our interactive exhibits, visitors can experience g-force, conduct maintenance on a space station, grow space food, and learn the realities of showering, sleeping, and using the toilet in space.”
The exhibit also explores teamwork to solve problems, accurately perform tasks, and overcome challenges that an astronaut would face on a real space mission. The interactives are best experienced with friends or family, as many objectives involve teamwork to complete a mission.
“The Summit has been encouraging our members to reach for the financial stars for nearly 85 years,” commented Twanda Christensen, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement. “We are again thrilled to be partnering with the RMSC on another mind-blowing exhibition that will have tens of thousands of visitors from all over our region looking up at the skies and toward the future with renewed interest.”
Built in the Scitech workshop in Perth, Australia, and produced by Imagine, Astronaut is a fun adventure for all ages. Imagine CEO Tom Zaller shared, “Imagine is proud to partner with Scitech to bring Astronaut to the RMSC. For decades, the scientific, technological, and engineering challenges of space exploration have captured our imaginations. Astronaut allows visitors to not only imagine life as a cosmic explorer, but to actually experience the incredible ways that humans survive in outer space.”
Come learn all about Astronaut, open daily to the public Tuesdays–Sundays for a limited engagement through May 3, 2026. Tickets are available to purchase at the RMSC Welcome Desk and rmsc.org.
