RMSC to Temporarily Close to the Public in Response to COVID-19

After consulting with a number of cultural leaders of institutions in the Rochester Region, it has become clear that closing our organizations is the best course of action for our community. The health and wellness of our staff, volunteers, visitors, and members are of the utmost importance to us and we are committed to taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, the Rochester Museum & Science Center’s Rochester campus will close to the public starting at 5pm, March 13 until March 27, 2020.

This includes all programs, events, and shows at the Science Museum and Strasenburgh Planetarium as well as the RMSC Preschool. At this time the Cumming Nature Center located in Naples, NY will remain open.

This is a very challenging time for the community, RMSC, and other cultural colleagues, and it is the RMSC’s hope that the risk to public health is mitigated soon. The RMSC will continue to monitor the situation and rely on guidance from public officials as the institutions make decisions about reopening or other operational adjustments.

The RMSC looks forward to welcoming visitors back to exploration and discovery soon. Please continue to check this website for the latest scheduling information.
