WHAT: The Rochester Museum & Science Center’s (RMSC) Cumming Nature Center (CNC) is gearing up for the 2021-2022 school year and registration for Forest School is now open to the general public.
CNC’s suite of Forest School outdoor education programs provide children ages 1-15 with the space to nurture a relationship with nature through curiosity-driven exploratory learning, hands-on projects, outdoor skills development, and unstructured play; all within a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment. Through Forest School, students learn to be resilient, self-reliant, and confidently inquisitive.
Families curious about Forest School opportunities for their children are invited to visit CNC for a Forest School Open House on Sunday, July 11, from 1-3pm. CNC education staff will be on-site to talk about Forest School, lead hands-on activities, and answer questions. This Open House is designed for parents and children alike to become familiar with the program as they consider joining for a semester or full year. This is a drop-in event, with no advanced registration necessary.
Forest School applications will be accepted until August 1, 2021. For inquiries about the program and assistance with registration, email mvs@rmsc.org or call 585.271.4320.
