The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Board of Trustees today announced it has retained Isaacson, Miller, a premier national executive search firm, to guide the search for the institution’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.
The selection follows a rigorous review process by the RMSC President and CEO Search Committee to identify a firm capable of conducting a comprehensive, nationwide search for a visionary leader. Founded in 1982, Isaacson, Miller specializes in recruiting transformative executives for civic, cultural, and educational institutions across the country.
“We are incredibly excited to officially launch this national search alongside Isaacson, Miller,” said Alex Molinich, Trustee and Chair of the RMSC President and CEO Search Committee. “The RMSC plays a vital role in our region, inspiring curiosity and community engagement. Finding a leader who shares our deep commitment to science, history, culture, and nature is our highest priority. We are confident that this partnership will help us find the next President and CEO who can build upon our strong foundation and lead the RMSC vibrantly into the future.”
Bruce Baker, Chair of the RMSC Board of Trustees, emphasized that the incoming leader will step in at a pivotal moment for the organization.

The search committee, composed of RMSC trustees, will work closely with Isaacson, Miller over the coming months. The process will include opportunities for staff, stakeholders, and partners in the Rochester community to share their input on the qualifications, experiences, and attributes desired in the next leader.
The mission of the RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center) is to create a better world through inspiring curiosity, exploration, and engagement across history, science, culture, and the natural world. RMSC includes the Museum & Science Center, Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the Cumming Nature Center in Naples. Offering experiences at the Museum & Science Center with more than 120 interactive exhibits, the Planetarium with a 65-foot dome, and the Nature Center on an 850-acre preserve of wilderness, the RMSC stimulates community interest in exploration and creates immersive experiences for all ages. The more than 1.2 million RMSC collection items tell the story of the Rochester Region’s past and present, including its rich history of cultural, social, and technological innovation and its natural history, including fossils, animals, and geological specimens. RMSC receives major funding from Monroe County, where it is one of the top five most visited attractions serving children and families.
