New Catalyst Circle Group Engages Young Adult Museum Advocates

First social evening event March 24 at Historic German House

ROCHESTER, NY—Local young professionals who are passionate about the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) now have a way to engage on a new level. The RMSC Catalyst Circle, launched in early 2016, consists of members who champion the mission, assist with fundraising goals and encourage support for the RMSC. A public “happy hour” event called Catalyst Cocktails hosted by this group takes place from 6pm to 8pm on March 24 at the Historic German House.

    Catalyst Circle—The Group

The goal of the RMSC Catalyst Circle is to maintain long-lasting relationships with this young and enthusiastic audience while providing opportunities for its members’ professional development. Catalyst Circle members have opportunities to network with key community leaders and make a difference alongside other philanthropically minded young adults. The Catalyst Circle plans and executes fundraising events throughout the year. The group has nearly 20 members from various industries in the Rochester community and is actively recruiting additional members. Jackie Lee, CPA at Mengel, Metzger Barr & Co. LLP, chairs the group. For details and to join, contact, Lindsay Recktenwald at lrecktenwald@rmsc.org.

    Catalyst Cocktails—The Event

The Catalyst Cocktails event features the science of craft cocktails from six local establishments. Each bartender will provide a demonstration of their craft cocktail and the science behind its creation on the main stage. This event provides attendees with snacks and drink samples as well as a customized t-shirt by CrazyDog T-Shirts. Tickets are available at www.rmsc.org as well as at participating bars: ButaPub, ORBS Restaurant & Bar, The Daily Refresher, Black Button Distilling and Swiftwater Brewing. Cheshire is also a participating bar. This event benefits the RMSC.

Catalyst Cocktails is a 21 and older event. Must have proof of ID at the door. Tickets are $30 per person and tickets are limited, so pre-purchasing tickets is strongly encouraged. The Historic German House is located at 315 Gregory St., Rochester, NY 14620.
