ROCHESTER, NY—Three new accomplished members and a new expert chair have joined the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Board of Trustees. New chair Anthony J. Adams, Jr. has been a member of the Board of Trustees for four years and has served as the Finance Committee Chair. New members, serving a three-year term (class of 2016-2019), Amy R. Coté, Stephanie Dickman and Robert W. Maggs, Jr. combined bring numerous years of leadership, legal and management expertise to the RMSC and together with Adams’s leadership will help the institution achieve its strategic goals.
Anthony J. Adams, Jr., Principal at Adams Bell Adams, P.C. Adams, as president of the Rochester law firm, engages primarily in business law. Practicing law since 1981, Adams has gained a reputation in the fields of construction law and commercial litigation. Adams serves as a member of the Monroe County, New York State and American Bar Associations and is a past director of Ridgemont Country Club. His volunteer work includes director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester and former board chair for Catholic Family Center. Adams’s strategic vision and experience combined with his practical approach is a value to the RMSC.
Amy R. Coté, Esq., Municipal Authorities & Business Risk Management Specialist, OneGroup NY, Inc. Coté is an expert in consulting and legal services and has expertise in areas including governance, operations, labor relations, performance metrics and policy development. She developed the first legal department and a claims management software program at the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, as well as managed all of the authority’s federal and state compliance matters. Coté has served as chair on the Cumming Nature Center Advisory Committee for more than two years and has provided excellent work on the RMSC’s gala committee for the past four years.
Stephanie Dickman, Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Harris Corporation’s Space and Intelligence Systems segment. Dickman joined Harris when it acquired Exelis Inc., where she was deputy director for Geospatial Information Solutions (GIS), responsible for the finance, contracts and proposals of the GIS business unit, playing a key role in developing the business unit’s strategy. Dickman also served as director of Government Optical Sensing Systems at Exelis Geospatial Systems where she was responsible for managing programs that developed space-based systems for military and intelligence customers. The combination of Dickman’s skills and interest in business development, engineering and strategic planning are assets to the RMSC.
Robert W. Maggs, Jr., President and CEO at Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (Retired in 2016). Maggs was president of the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church for 16 years after 27 years of experience as an attorney and human resources executive in banking at Lincoln First Bank in Rochester, and then chief legal advisor to the Chase vice chair of regional banking. He also served as trustee and elder of Rochester’s Third Presbyterian Church. Maggs’s leadership skills and knowledge of Rochester benefit the RMSC.
