Partnership Between RMSC and Peerless Events/ButaPub Brings New 3rd ROC Café to Community

Five new catering options also available at RMSC

ROCHESTER, NY—The same group that brought the Rochester community the highly rated ButaPub in the South Wedge has been selected by the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) to run the new Museum café. Peerless Events, Inc. has established 3rd ROC Café at the RMSC—a family-friendly eatery with enhanced homemade taste. The 3rd ROC Café opened for business in early March and a grand opening promotion will take place June 20–24 where guests sample unique iced coffee flavors and kids receive a free cookie.

ButaPub, known for its “kicked-up” American pub classics and Asian influence, shares a similar focus with the RMSC—a community gathering place. “The RMSC is a local treasure with a strong emphasis on convening community members for discovery opportunities,” said Evan Pierce, general manager and events coordinator, Peerless Events. “We are happy to partner with an institution that is preparing future generations for success as well as provide a place to gather for a friendly and immersive experience with high-quality food.”

Featuring fresh, flavorful and healthy options as well as classic café fare, 3rd ROC Café appeals to a broad audience. Local ingredients are incorporated into dishes whenever possible and there are several kid meal choices, bento-box style. Some menu items include soups, salads, wraps and pasta dishes as well as vegetarian, gluten free, rice bowl and tofu options. Some unique flavors include kimchi and pickled jalapenos. 3rd ROC Café carries Glen Edith coffee and offers a special space-themed espresso drink only available at RMSC that, after poured, resembles Jupiter’s great red spot.

“We chose to partner with Peerless Events for their positive reputation in the community and ability to provide plenty of options to our visitors,” said Joe Graves, vice president of operations, RMSC. “We are excited to continue to elevate the RMSC as a breakfast and lunch destination in Rochester as well as a go-to for catered events.”

3rd ROC Café hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am–3pm and Sunday, 11am–3pm. Admission to the RMSC is not required when visiting the café alone. Menu prices range from $3 to $10. The café includes indoor as well as outdoor patio seating.

The RMSC also welcomes five preferred caterers, Chef’s Catering, Gatherings Catering, Max Rochester, Peerless Events and Tasteful Connections. Having five options offers RMSC’s clients several opportunities to select a caterer that best suits their event needs.
