RMSC & Visit Rochester Announces Shuttle Partnership for Eclipse Weekend

The RMSC & Visit Rochester are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with First Student in preparation for Rochester’s total solar eclipse weekend. This partnership with First Student aims to provide a convenient, reliable, and fully accessible transportation option to allow visitors to shuttle around the city to enjoy the variety of Rochester events going on.

Visitors will be able to park at the East End & South Ave garages and shuttle in a continuous loop between the RMSC, George Eastman Museum, The Strong National Museum of Play, and the Memorial Art Gallery on Saturday and Sunday with an additional stop at the City of Rochester Public Market on Monday. When boarding the shuttle, no fee will be required (parking garage fees will still apply).

    First Student Shuttling Schedule

April 6: 9am–6pm (Last pick up cycle 5:30pm)

April 7: 9am–6pm (Last pick up cycle 5:30pm)

“We’ve been working on this plan with the City and partner organizations for months in anticipation of high tourism & traffic experienced by past total solar eclipse locations within the path of totality,” said Hillary Olson, President and CEO of the RMSC. “The goal is to alleviate the stress of traffic in the City leading up to and after totality, and make the experience an enjoyable one for visitors and residents.”

We strongly recommend planning ahead for travel time, especially on April 8. Allot extra time for travel, arrivals, and for the ride home. Traffic will likely be heavy.
