THE RMSC TO HOLD ONE YEAR OUT ECLIPSE PRESS CONFERENCE

WHAT:  Press is invited to the Total Solar Eclipse Press Conference at the RMSC.  Representatives from the RMSC and Visit Rochester, along with guest speakers Mayor Malik Evans, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, Congressman Joe Morelle, and other Eclipse stakeholders will announce the strategic planning process put forth for the Total Solar Eclipse happening on April 8, 2024.

WHY:  Rochester sits directly in the path of totality of the 2024 total solar eclipse and will experience 3 minutes and 38 seconds of complete totality; meaning Rochesterians will experience totality for 1 minute longer than those who viewed the 2017 total solar eclipse. Rochester will be in a unique position for viewing that people will be traveling out-of-state to experience.

The RMSC and its Eclipse stakeholders have been activating the steps necessary to ensure the Rochester community can make the most of this once-in-a-generation event, including the 50+ businesses and organizations participating in the RMSC Eclipse Ambassador program, a 4-day festival event, and other exciting opportunities leading up to the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024.

    WHEN:
Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 9:55am EST at the RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium.
