Bitter Bells

Thursday, March 21 | 6:30-7:30pm | Event support thanks to the Rochester Music Hall of Fame

This month, we're welcoming Bitter Bells to the RMSC! They're an Americana band from Rochester, NY that feature the harmonies and storytelling of life and music partners Ben and Rita Proctor, also of The Crooked North. A mix of country, rock, and bluegrass, Bitter Bells draws on many influences for their original songs along with traditional and deep cuts from their favorite songwriters. Backed by banjos and guitars, they look for new ways to engage audiences in the great story of American music.

 Hanna & the Blue Hearts

Hanna and the Blue Hearts

Thursday, April 18 | 6:30-7:30pm

Led by vocalist/pianist, Hanna PK, Hanna and the Blue Hearts channel a wide variety of the blues, from pre-war styles to 50’s & 60’s Chicago blues, to boogie-woogie. While Hanna's left hand reflects on traditional blues masters’ rocking and shuffling bass patterns, her right hand grooves along, dancing all over those 88’s mixing with her sultry voice. Three other band members often join Hanna as a duo or trio and recently they released a new CD, called “The Blues Is Here To Stay.” In addition to that exciting news, Hanna and guitarist Aleks Disljenkovic won 1st place at Memphis Bound, which led to an opportunity to represent Western New York at 2019 International Blues Challenge where they finished as semi-finalists.
