RMSC Response to COVID-19

RMSC will close temporarily to help keep our community safe

The health and wellness of our visitors, members, staff, and volunteers are of the utmost importance to us and we are committed to taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, the Rochester Museum & Science Center’s Rochester campus will close to the public starting at 5pm, March 13 until further notice.

This includes all programs, events, and shows at the Science Museum and Strasenburgh Planetarium as well as the RMSC Preschool. At this time the Cumming Nature Center, located in Naples, NY, will remain open.

For questions regarding previously purchased tickets to events, shows, or general admission, please contact our Member and Visitor Services team at 585.697.1942. Tickets purchased to a postponed event will be eligible for the rescheduled date. If an event is canceled, ticket holders will have the opportunity to turn their purchase into a donation or receive a refund.

We will continue to monitor the situation and rely on guidance from CDC, New York State Department of Health, and Monroe County Health Department to make decisions about reopening or other operational adjustments.

This is a very challenging time, yet our efforts to elevate science fact, stimulate curiosity, and ignite discovery are more important than ever. If you agree, please consider donating now.

We look forward to welcoming our visitors back to the RMSC for exploration and discovery soon. Please continue to check our website for the latest scheduling information.
