Indigenous Peoples' Day

October 10, 2022 | 11am–3pm

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day at the RMSC. Join staff, volunteers, and featured presenters as we celebrate local indigenous cultures. 


Event highlights include: 

  • Land Acknowledgement 
  • The Movement of Music: See how sound moves with the influential music of indigenous artists, past and present 
  • At the Western Door: Discover the rich history and culture of the Haudenosaunee (hoe-dee-no-SHOW-nee) people. Connect with their story from the past to present through interactive talks with hands-on artifacts
  • Interactive Story Time: Cozy up for story time, featuring books by indigenous authors. Catch readings at 11am, noon, 1pm, and 2pm
  • Everyday Activism: Make a button that celebrates Indigenous People Day and learn about genuine allyship
  • Learn and Color: Get creative with coloring pages featuring illustrations from local indigenous artist, Jackie Fawn (Yurok/Washoe/Filipino)
