RMSC STEM AMBASSADORS

As a continuation of the incredible shared experience of the Total Solar Eclipse, and success of the RMSC Community Eclipse Ambassadors program, we’ve launched a subset program to take us into 2026: the RMSC STEM Ambassador Program!

RMSC STEM AMBASSADORS

To excite our community and increase STEM accessibility, in December 2024, we launched the RMSC STEM Ambassador program.

Ambassadors will be trained in basic astronomy, night sky viewing, details about the upcoming NASA Artemis missions, and math communication in 2026. For their organizations, Ambassadors will be provided with equipment including: binoculars, educational materials, tools for hosting star parties, and materials for activities.

The goal of the Ambassador program is to impact and serve communities that may not be able or predisposed to visit museums. Continuing on the success of the Eclipse Community Ambassador Program, we’ll be de-centralizing STEM learning into communities, creating access for all.

Participants represent community organizations, businesses, or municipalities and serve people in the Greater Rochester region.

In 2026, we will build on themes of scale, distance, and measurement from the macro of the Milky Way to the micro of the atom, making everyday math tangible through physical visualizations, music, and hands-on activities. This includes, but is not limited to, exploring the ratios used in baking, the variables that influence the weather, how math has been used culturally, and the critical math that sustains life, such as beats per measure in CPR.
