Journey through the Stars at the Strasenburgh Planetarium!

Journey through the Stars at the Strasenburgh Planetarium!

Immerse yourself in a world of wonder and excitement at the RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium. Our four-story dome is your window to the universe. Here, you can travel to the farthest reaches of outer space, peer inside at the tiniest atoms that make up our own bodies, and experience the starry night sky closer than ever before.

The Strasenburgh Planetarium has been inspiring, exciting, and astonishing visitors since it opened in 1968. Experience for yourself the magnificence of our universe like you’ve never seen it before.

Our public programs include:

  • Immersive Featured Presentations and Star Shows that feature “Carl,” our legendary star projector, and our new Digistar 6 fulldome visualization system.
  • Themed Saturday Night Laser Shows that combine classic rock music with groovy and dazzling laser light effects
  • Free public telescope viewing on the Planetarium roof! Telescope viewing is offered on Saturday evenings (weather permitting) thanks to volunteers from the Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Science.
