Sun, Moon, and Stars

Grades K-2 | Observe the Sun’s path through the sky from east to west. After sunset, find key constellations of the season by looking for distinctive features such as Orion’s Belt. Travel to the moon, returning just in time for sunrise.

A favorite for over 20 years! Watch the Sun travel across the daytime sky to sunset. Find and point to a few key star groups of the current season. Take an imaginary trip to the moon to see the Sun and Earth in the sky. Then return home just in time for sunrise. This program emphasizes stars and constellations. If your students are more interested in planets, consider “Planet Spectacular.” For questions about the content of this program, email Planetarium Director Steve Fentress at sfentress@rmsc.org.

**Seating capacity may be limited in compliance with public health guidelines in effect on the day of your visit. Maximum capacity includes all students, teachers, aides, chaperones, parents, and siblings.
